Medis offers gowns to first-year medical students in 2022 at EMU

29 April, 2022

For the fourth consecutive year, Medis offered the gowns to the new medical students who have just started their first year at the Eduardo Mondlane University.

By offering these white coats, symbols of Medicine and Health, Medis is associated with the school career of these students, the future doctors of Mozambique.

The ceremony, held on 29 April, was attended by the Vice-Rector, Prof Dr Amália Uamusse, the Director of the Faculty of Medicine, Prof Dr Jahit Sacarlal, the Deputy Director for Research and Extension, Prof Dr Tufária Mussá, as well as a representative of the 1st year students.

With the easing of the restrictions imposed by COVID-19, the EMU logo gowns ceremony was again attended by all students. By offering these gowns, which are essential for their protection, Medis thus helps to reduce course costs while fostering links with the university community. At the ceremony, Medis brand manager Miguel Sousa reinforced Medis' role as a major partner in the health area in Mozambique.

This Medis initiative is part of its social responsibility programme and reinforces the partnership of more than a decade with the Eduardo Mondlane University.
